Lightning

Lightning is an attack spell.
Spell Description[edit]
For all battle-minded spellcasters, this is a real alternative to fire-based attack spells. Casting Lightning will shoot a bolt of lightning at the target. No armour can stop the electric damage, and it is so fast it will always hit. But the disadvantage of the spell is, that it causes less damage than fire spells while having higher costs due to the need for mandrake root.
In Ultima IX the spell became much easier to use and weak enemies die after only one hit, while stronger foes need to be hit several times. However, a delay in casting provides the enemy another advantage.

This elegant conjure brings the elemental energy of air in friction to the hand of the spellcaster who projects it forward as a bolt of lightning. Weaker creatures may receive fatal shocks, while sturdier creatures may be shocked to find themselves rendered hairless. Be warned, for the mirthful sight of a bald goblin may give the advantage to him.
