Deter is a spell on the Serpent Isle which drains animals of the will to fight.

Spell Description[edit]

When casting Deter, wild animals at once lose the will to attack the mage. This makes it different from Cause Fear, which makes the foes flee in terror. It is a spell useful for the virtuous, but useless against any creature that has even an ounce of intelligence or malevolence in them.

Lore[edit]

This spell often discourages hostile, non-sentient animals from attacking its subject.
