The Conjure spell summons wild animals that fight against the caster’s foe.
Spell Description[edit]
When fighting a battle in the middle of the wilderness, this spell can call the animals of the wild to help out in the battle. However, these animals – foxes, wolves and others – are not particularly strong and therefore mostly serve to distract enemies. This spell is stronger than Swarm. The stronger version of this spell is Summon which summons more formidable creatures.
Lore[edit]
“ | Beginning mages often find their responsibility onerous, with an entire group of adventurers relying on their meager magical skills for protection and assistance in difficult situations. These novice mages may quickly and frequently turn to Kal Xen to add to the offensive ranks of their party in battle. Kal Xen summons small nasty creatures such as rats and snakes to help in combat. Nasty or not, these summoned beasts are always loyal to the caster, and often direct a foe’s attention away from members of the mage’s party. Mix mandrake root with spider silk to ensure the beast’s loyalty. The local where the mandrake root is gathered influences what type of creature is summoned. – from The Book of Lore (Ultima V)

“ | Summons a wild beast to your side to aid in combat. – from Compendium (Ultima VI)

“ | This spell summons a wild beast that will fight for the mage against any enemy. – from The Book of Fellowship (Ultima VII)

“ | Despite its name, this spell actually summons, rather than conjures, a wild beast to fight for the caster. |
