Penguin Island is situated in the far north of Serpent Isle. It appears in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Penguin Island is home to, unsurprisingly, penguins. These flightless birds may be small, but are highly territorial, attacking anyone foolish enough to invade their nesting place in search of a quick snack of penguin eggs. The island is situated amongst the dangerous ice-flows of the frost-bound Northern Regions, and can only be reached by using more or less stable ice rafts.
When looking through a magical telescope on the Isles of the Mad Mage, the Avatar found out that the transported Magebane - exchanged with a penguin egg - could be found there, an item which the Avatar could either choose to offer to Vasculio, the insane blood-drinking wizard, lately of Moonshade, or use it to defeat him. However, taking the weapon would incite the wrath of the birds calling the island their home.
Trivia[edit]
- Besides the telescope on Erstam's island, there is another hint being found. If the Avatar tries to talk to the Library ghost in Skullcrusher, she will drop a book about the breeding habits of penguins.
