The Northern Encampment is located in the Northern Forest of Serpent Isle.

History

The encampment was settled a year before the Avatar’s arrival. Serpent Islanders arrived there on ship The Emerald Lady in search of gold and gems under the protection of the monitorian knight Draygan and his company. However, they at first did not find the imagined riches and then gave up the earlier buildings to migrate further north. When they finally did find gold, Draygan and his men decided to take over the settlement by force. That was made easy due to Draygan having stolen from Morghrim the forest master his magical orb, in turn however also causing the forest master's wolves to prey upon people. Those that opposed Draygan - next to all of the settlers - rallied under the banner of a man named Falcon and were actually let go by Draygan. They had no idea that Draygan had burnt the ship months ago, thus condomning them to be killed by the riled-up wolves.

At the time of the Avatar's arrival in Ultima VII Part Two, the remains of the settlement was controlled by Draygan after having caused the death of almost all the settlers, and he ruled like a dictator over the settlement with his men, all of them being brutal killers. The camp was abandoned after the Avatar killed Draygan with a special arrow and took care of his men as well.

Trivia

• In the mines behind the encampment, a secret room with loot can be found through an invisible passage in the east.
• The actual name of the settlement, as read on a sign south of the southernmost abandoned house, is "Hamlinberg".
