Martian raygun

Martian rayguns were a standard weapon on ancient Mars, rediscovered in Martian Dreams.

Description

During the excursions into the martian buildings, the Avatar and the other expedition members managed to discover two distinct weapons of the former inhabitants of the planet.

Freeze ray
Stopping power: 2

Heat ray

However, with the discovery came also the realization, that the found rayguns were not that great weapons. For one, their range and damage output is actually inferior to the commonly available rifles the expedition used. Even worse, the rays are powered by radium. Not only is this a material difficult to acquire, it also is difficult to handle and holds severe health hazards. The rayguns also use up radium at an alarming rate.

Due to all these disadvantages, it was more economical to continue using normal rifles.
