The War Bow of Blood is an enchanted bow that appears in Ultima IX.
Description[edit]
The use of this weapon is costly; while the strongest bow in all of Britannia, with a enormous destructive power, the price for such power is high as with each arrow the bow feeds on the lifeforce of the warrior to keep up its destructive powers. Therefore the War Bow of Blood is a weapon only used in total desperation, as a last-stitch effort, otherwise the price is too high. In the age of Ultima IX, the bow had been in possession of Jordan, but he had forgotten to take it with him when shipwrecking at the shores of Valoria, returning to it made impossible by monsters blocking the way. The Avatar read about it in his journal and found it in the shipwreck at the southern coast.
Effectiveness of the Weapon[edit]

This is horrible. What was I thinking? No wonder those Knights are always staying locked in their fortress. This place is crawling with undead, and I fear for my life. I was attacked by a zombie today, and thought I was fine, until another one came out of nowhere and almost killed me. I was lucky to get away, but my sword was snatched from me. My enchanted bow is still in the chest on my ship, but there's some huge crab there now, and without a sword, I can't get past it to get to my bow. More than anything, I just want to leave this place.

- The shipwreck with the bow strangely enough only appears after finishing Destard. One of the many bugs in the game can even cause it (and the bow) to not appear at all.
- Each shot decreases the Avatar's health by two points.
