The pitchfork is a tool often seen on farms. They are found in Martian Dreams, Ultima VII and Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
This tool is commonly used for bailing hay and other tasks that involve lifting something. It can be pressed into service as a makeshift weapon by a desperate fighter, and is favourite amongst poor peasants if they are forced to use violence. Its design requires the use of two hands for effective use.
Effectiveness as a Weapon[edit]
- In Ultima VI, pitchforks have a damage of 4 and a reach of 0.
- In Martian Dreams, pitchforks have a damage of 2 and a reach of 0.
- In Ultima VII and Ultima VII Part Two, pitchforks have a damage of 2 and a reach of 4.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- A pitchfork was used to kill Inamo in Trinsic, nailing him to the wall of the stable.
- Pitchforks and similar tools useable as weapons could also be found on Mars in the 19th century -- see Weapons in Martian Dreams.
