Scimitar
A scimitar is a backsword with a curved blade. It is a relatively light blade compared to larger swords and has a curved edge good for slashing. It has frequently been employed by troops on horseback, and on Earth is commonly associated with the Middle East and Indian sub-continent. [1] It appears in Ultima VIII and Ultima IX.
History[edit]
The Avatar first encountered scimitars on Pagan, where they could be purchased from Korick the blacksmith, but they could also be found throughout Pagan. They were the favorite weapon of the skeletons of that land. The famed Scimitar of Khumash-Gor was found in the Shrine of the Ancient Ones during this time.
Later, by the time of Ultima IX, scimitars had come into regular use in Britannia. The Wyrmguard was especially fond of using them as their weapon of choice.
Effectiveness of the Weapon[edit]
- In Ultima VIII, the damage of this weapon is 5(min) - 16(max).[2]
- In Ultima IX, a scimitar does 15(min) - 25(max) damage.[3]
