Wizard Eye

Wizard Eye is a magical means by which a mage can safely scout his surroundings.
Spell Description[edit]
The Peer spell grants an overview of the surrounding terrain, but it does not reveal the presence of enemies. Wizard Eye, on the other hand, offers this insight. It creates a magical eye that will scout out the surroundings for the caster, reporting all kinds of danger. This eye will not be revealed to anyone else so it can be cast without detection and may be worth the high reagent cost.
After a set amount of time, the eye will dissolve into nothing, leaving no trace. In Ultima IX, the spell lasts until dismissed or until mana runs out.

This spell enables the mage to extend his sight out over great distances, passing through any barriers that exist between himself and anything he wishes to look at.

By focusing the energy of the air into the incantation of this spell, the mage can project his vision forward to see without being seen. In my study, I once detected the Wizard Eye that Arduin had cast from a scroll to peer over my shoulder at my papers. Though thoroughly scolded, the boy will try again when another scroll is found. It is a signal of progress in the student and a warning to the master who must continue to learn and to seek with the same vigor as his charge.
