The Tomb of Moriens is the prominent central feature of the Cemetery of Pagan in Ultima VIII.
Description[edit]
As the name suggests, Moriens, the first Necromancer, is buried in that building. Also, the building serves as the home of the Necromancers of Pagan, where they do their work, and hold their rituals. It also holds the archives of their order. This close proximity to the dead is, what makes the general population keep a distance to the Necromancers . The most prominent feature of the building is the central altar, where dying Necromancers are sent to Lithos in the Ceremony of Eternity, which many outsiders interpret as bloody murder
