The Temple of Beauty in Fawn on Serpent Isle is one of the most wonderful buildings in the entire city and appears in Ultima VII Part Two.

Description

Located at the north end, the Temple houses the Oracle of Fawn, a huge statue of a nude woman of exceptional beauty. The Temple is also used for trials and to hear the verdict of the Oracle, the cells for the accused directly below the main floor. Few know that there is one more room that allows complete control over the Oracle to make it say whatever is most convenient to those in power. The Avatar revealed during the trial of Dupre, that the Oracle was manipulated to excercise power over the city. Proving this, Dupre was freed of all charges, and the Temple returned to its proper use.

When I arrived at the temple, I received the distinct impression that Kylista was not overjoyed to see me. She told me of a device called the Oracle that was housed in the temple, fashioned by the ancient mages of Sosaria. It was made to discern between falsehood and truth. I found this quite interesting and asked her if the Oracle would offer insight into Xenkan philosophy. At this, Kylista curtly informed me that she had no time to deal with those who did not follow the way of Beauty and bid me good-bye. Trivia

• The Oracle can either only free Dupre of all charges, or reveal the trial as a sham, the latter option is the better one.
• The Temple isn't guarded at night, and those put on trial retain their weapons through the proceedings.
