The Mathis Mines is a mining outpost to the west of Yew during the time of Ultima IX.
Description[edit]
Prior to the arrival of the Avatar, goblins were preparing to sack the outpost. It could have been prevented by Mathis, but in his cowardice he didn't dare steal a totem whose theft would have thrown the goblins into chaos. The goblins eventually sacked the outpost, killing all inhabitants. The Avatar could later searched through the ruins and find a map left by the goblins showing their hideout near Trinsic where they'd hidden the Star of Britannia.
