Most of the runic spells in Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss and Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds are listed in the game documentation but a few must be discovered in-game. This page lists those spells and where to find them.

Usefulness[edit]

To cast runic spells in the Underworld games you only need to select the runes in the proper order. The runes can be obtained from Runic Magic for both documented and undocumented spells. The game doesn't track whether a player has found in the spell in game, so why do these locations matter? Mostly for a player doing an "in-character" or "no-meta" game where they don't want to use knowledge their character doesn't have access to. Also, in the PSX-port of Ultima Underworld, runes cannot be selected, spells are selected from a list of known and rune-available spells, and undocumented spells cannot be used until found.

Trivia[edit]

  • UW1 has exactly one undocumented spell in each circle.
  • UW1 has exactly six spells in each circle, five documented and one not.
  • UW1 has one undocumented spell found on each floor, except two on six and none on seven.
