The Temple of Ethicality is one of the six temples sacred to the forces that form Order, Chaos and Balance and used to belong to Order. It appears in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Situated south of Spinebreaker, the Temple of Ethicality demands everyone prove their ethicality, before they are allowed to drink from the Water of Ethicality. In order to do so, three tests have to be done in order to be found worthy. These tests include self-sacrifice, letting go of riches and never giving up, even in light of seeming defeat. This then activates the fountain with the water of Ethicality.
History[edit]
After the massacres of Skullcrusher and the Temple of Emotion at the start of the War of Imbalance, Chaos forces launched a strong reprisal, and after killing all the forces of Ethicality, moved towards the Temple of Ethicality itself. After horrifically torturing all the inhabitants to death, Chaos razed all surface buildings of the temple to the ground, leaving nothing but ruins. Once the Chaos Serpent got ripped into pieces, the resulting Bane representing Anarchy was imprisoned inside the underground tunnels of the temple ruin in a special prison, before Order left the lands forever.
Many years later, Batlin broke open the prison, causing the Bane to escape. The Avatar later had to get the water to heal Shamino from his insanity. Going underground and braving the three tests, the fountain was activated, so the Avatar could gain the water of Ethicality.

- Strange enough, the prison of the Bane of Anarchy is missing.
- The history behind the attack is not directly said, but can be deduced from Shriash’s words and the notes of a soldier in the temple itself.
