Ultima III Reference Card
This is the reference card coming with Ultima III.
Description[edit]
Chonologically, this is the first full reference card produced by Origin. It does show a nice drawing on its cover, a trend that would continue for the next several reference cards. The card first lists all of the commands and what exactly they do, then lists the spells and their mana cost as well as the normal weapons and armour. The specific instructions for the port in question are last.
Other Editions[edit]
For each port, a slightly different reference card was released. Those cards can mostly be kept apart by the ink they were being printed with. The card for the C64 is printed with orange ink, the one for the IBM-PC, Amiga and Apple II with blue ink, for the Atari 800 with green ink, for the Atari ST with black ink and the one for the Apple Macintosh with red ink. The release in the Ultima Trilogy I II III would combine this with the other reference cards.
Two different versions were released for Japanese computers.The version created by StarCraft, while sporting the cover image, was shrunk to booklet size. The version from PonyCanyon on the other hand is a direct translation of the original card.
