Savage Empire Reference Guide
Savage Empire was distributed with a reference guide which serves as a quick-start manual.
Description[edit]
Like the reference guide for Ultima VI, the guide for Savage Empire gives instructions on the start menus before going into detail about the game’s interface, what the various buttons do, and what keyboard commands are available. The guide also explains the stats, combat options, and how magic in this game works without any of the frills of Ultimate Adventures. The actual installation instructions were for the first time outsourced into a separate start guide.
Other Editions[edit]
The European market received the same reference guide, though another guide also came with the game. This additional guide features translations into German and French but is the same content-wise. The Japanese PC-98 version from Pony Canyon has a new cover, but the content is the same, just translated into Japanese and combined with the revised start guide.
The content of the guide was incorporated in translated form into the respective manuals of the Taiwanese and Korean versions.
