The Sosarian divine spell Luminae provides illumination during dungeon exploration.
Spell Description[edit]
The darkness of the evil depths makes exploration next to impossible without a light source. While torches are one solution to this problem, this spell enables the caster to have light without having to carry equipment. This saves space in the backpack.
Note that the spell Sominae creates a longer-lasting light, while the arcane counterpart to this spell is Lorum.
This spell is one of the sources for the later Britannian Light spell.
Lore[edit]
“ | The powers of thine enlightenment shall gradually unfold before thee. Resting at thy hand is the ability to enchant objects in a manner which will make them glow. Whilst holding thy staff aloft, repeat the name of this enchantment. Doing so, the power of the Truths within thee will cause thy staff to glow with a soft blue light.
Realize, however, that this light will no be long sustained. For the power brought through thee unto thy staff will slowly radiate away and soon will dim and fade. – from The Ancient Liturgy of Truth (Ultima III)
