With Rec Su it is possible to ascend one dungeon or tower level immediately. It is a divine spell in Ultima III, but it occupies both spell classes in Ultima I and Ultima II.

Description

The divine spell Rec Su is very similar to its arcane counterpart Sur Acron. Casting it allows the cleric’s party to ascend one dungeon level without the need of a ladder that leads closer to the surface. Repeated chants can quickly lead to the surface of a dungeon, to be safe from the dangers below, while avoiding the dangers on the way. Rec Du is the opposite of this spell. By its very nature, this spell can only be applied in locations with multiple levels.

In Britannian magic, the equivalent spell is Uus Por, probably having evolved out of this one.
