Elad is a healer living Moonglow during Ultima VII.

Description[edit]

An open and well-meaning man, Elad seemed invested in the community around him and could prove a font of information regarding the various inhabitants of Moonglow. Unlike many of his contemporaries in medicine, the healer had little animosity with the Fellowship, who had only established themselves on Verity Isle in the past five years.[1]

Despite his contentedness with life in Moonglow, Elad appeared to have a sense of wanderlust calling to him. He was friends with the Observatory administrator, Brion, and often looked at the stars with him[2] – and had offered lodging to the traveling peddler, Addom, in exchange for hearing tales of the man's journeys. Despite this longing to see the wider world, however, Elad felt a sense of weighty responsibility to the community he tended. Although he would haltingly ask the Avatar if he might join in the hero's quest, he, himself, would admit that such a request was impossible – even should the Avatar wish him to join to their adventuring party.[3]

Lore[edit]

Though our techniques vary in many ways — for example, Elad of Moonglow prefers to emphasize the curative aspects of herbs, whilst I am more fond of proper cleaning and bandaging — all healers must have a good grasp of magic to perform perhaps our most important service: resurrection.
