Ultima VII Reference Card
This is the reference card coming with Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
With a new change in engine, the reference card changed again. All of the technical questions were moved to a separate Install Guide, as was already done in Ultima Underworld, the guide being a no-frills affair. After guiding through the start options, the card gives a short walkthrough through the start of the game, embedding first questions about the interface into it, before going into detail about the new user interface and how to use it - including keyboard shortcuts. It also explains the spellbook, the various stats and gives a detailled explanation of the combat options.
Other Editions[edit]
The reference card, while still holding the same content, was altered for the European release to be a multilingual affair, holding an English, French, German and Italian section of the same content. That of course made the card significantly bigger than its American counterpart. The Polish and Spanish versions got a single-language, fully translated card. The release from Hit Squad in the UK had the styling of the multilingual release, but only held the English section in it.
The American and European editions of The Complete Ultima VII contained their respective reference cards without alteration. The later budget release combined those with the install guide in one booklet. In the European budget jewelcase editions the booklet was combined with the install guide and only printed in the language of the market it was sold in.
