Amtgard is a world-wide organization dedicated to medieval and fantasy combat sports and recreation. Members of the organization's former Grand Duchy of Barad Duin, where Ultima VI writer Dr. Cat and artist-writer Manda Dee (Penumbra), provided the basis for some characters in the game.
