The Book of Honesty (sometimes the erronously called the Book of Truth, which is a different book) is one of the eight talismans of Sir Cabirus, representing the virtue of Honesty.

Description[edit]

Written by Ravenhurst of Moonglow, the book dwells on honesty, truth and the meaning of life, looking for deeper answers. It is a strong symbol of virtue. The Book of Honesty was hidden by the Seers of the Moonstone on their level after the talismans were looted. The Avatar found it in Ultima Underworld in a hidden, key-shaped room on the sixth level of the Abyss near the library. The hint was that knowledge is the key. It was cast into the lava of the Abyss later, in order to banish to Slasher of Veils.

Lore[edit]

Cover of a red book with high-density runic and a drawing of a snake.

Said to have been penned by Ravenhurst of Moonglow, a great philosopher of the past age, this book contains meditations on the meaning of life, the importance of truth, the fallibility of the senses, and the difficulty of seeing even what is directly adjacent to one's mustache.

Trivia[edit]

  • This artifact is likely an homage to the Honest Book of Truth penned by Discordian prophet Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst. While the a complete copy of this high piece of Erisian scripture has never been published for the benefit of the public, the work is mentioned in the Principia Discordia, which Ravenhurst penned with his co-prophet Malaclypse the Younger after a series of psychedelic revelations in a bowling alley.[1]
  • It is called Book of Truth in the Memoirs of Sir Cabirus, which is an obvious goof, as that is a different book.
