Receiving the jeweled sword and shield from Thrud

In Ultima V, jeweled shields could be obtained from Thrud in Windemere, but only after joining the Oppression.

Description

Thrud demanded the password of the Resistance in exchange for these shields. Despite the high price paid for the armour, these supposedly fabulous shields turned out to be useless in combat.

Jeweled shields also appear in Ultima Underworld and Ultima Underworld II, where they actually offer very good protection.
