Ultima VII in Italiano is a project which aims at translating Ultima VII, complete with Forge of Virtue, into Italian.

The Project

When official translations of Ultima VII were done, the big Italian market got ignored, as only German, Spanish and French translations were done. This project is created as an Exult mod, which needs at least Exult 1.4, though an installer for 1.2 does exist as well, to translate the game to Italian. The project was completed in 2009 and offers a complete translation of Ultima VII, complete with text, graphics and even voice files (though those are by own admission done by amateurs). The translated game then has the title of Il Portale Oscuro and La Forgia della Virtù.

For installation, the offered installer has to be used - of course after installing Exult and the base English game. For the speech files a separate zip-file exists. Additionally, the manuals were translated as well and are offered on the page.

The team also did a translation of Ultima VII Part Two, as announced on the website, but little is known about that project.
