Map of Towne Basko |
Towne Basko is a settlement on the mysterious Planet X in the year 2112 A.D. It appears to exist within the alternate time line created by Minax's interventions during Ultima II.
Description[edit]
Towne Basko was a fairly typical city of the era, in spite of its exotic location. Sporting stables, armourers and weaponsmiths, and a tavern, Towne Basko had little to differentiate it from the Terran settlements of the past. Several establishments within Basko were named for Ozymandias (Ozy for short), the lord of Castle Barataria and presumed ruler of the planet. The initials "P.O." also appeared in the fountain in the town square, although who or what they reference is not known.
Aside from a few theorists who could be found in the ancient village of Baradin's Town, there was little evidence that anyone on Earth knew of the existence of Planet X, making the origins of the seemingly humanoid residents of Basko unclear.[1] If queried, many of the town's inhabitants exhorted the Stranger to trek onward to the Castle Barataria, where the legendary Father Antos would give the hero his blessing.
After the time doors closed and the ahistorical timeline became inaccessible, any other information about it is unknown.

Trivia[edit]
- In the C64-port, this town is erroneously labeled "Towne Mary", whereas the name of the real Towne Mary is missing because of a bug.
