Solar System
This article is about the Solar System in Ultima II. For Britannia, see Britannian planetary system.
The Solar System is that of the planet Earth, home of the Avatar, Lord British, and their companions, as well as several other planets.
Description[edit]
Besides its sun, the Solar System consists of the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Planet X is an uncharted planet in the Solar System. Using the rocket, all of these planets can be travelled to in Ultima II’s alternate time line, where they are quite different from reality, thanks to Minax meddling with time.
All coordinates are found in a list at Planet coordinates.
The planet Mars is the only one besides Earth itself to have a special role, since the Avatar visits it again in Martian Dreams.
Lore[edit]
“ | Your journey will inevitably lead you into outer space. Special attire is needed to successfully travel through the solar system. While this map shows the limits of known space, don't be afraid to search for new worlds. – from The Second Age of Darkness (Ultima II)

Trivia[edit]
- The events of Martian Dreams take place in the past, and visiting the planets in Ultima II is only possible in the 2112 A.D. Aftermath.
- Hyperjumping to the coordinates 4,4,4 means flying into the sun, equaling instant death.
- A symbolic representation of the solar system is seen in the dream of Percival Lowell in Martian Dreams.
- The "galactic" map of known space is far from being galactic. It is just a planetary map of known space. A galactic map would include billions of stars.
