Stelnar Starhelm is a fighter at The Sword and Keg in Jhelom in Ultima VI. He is an acquaintance of Shamino’s and has a propensity for brawling and a passion for exterminating monsters from Britannia.

Description[edit]

Stelnar was an angry, violent man whose main goal was the eradication of all Britannian monsters. In the past, Stelnar and Shamino had hunted in the Spiritwood, where Stelnar prided himself in destroying wisps. Stelnar told the Avatar that if given the choice, he would destroy all of the gargoyles in Britannia.

Van Kellian and Stelnar were often at odds over the nature of the gargoyle living in the Drylands, Sin'Vraal, with Van Kellian believing the gargoyle was not a threat if Lord British was not intent on killing him, while Stelnar thought leaving any gargoyle alive was an affront to Valor. The warrior felt Sin'Vraal could never comprehend the Virtues, and that something as ugly as a gargoyle could never be trusted. Stelnar spoke well of Arvin and Culham, and Lyssandra thought of Stelnar as a very angry man.[1]

The Ultima 6 Project[edit]

This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.

In The Ultima 6 Project, Stellnar openly announced he would soon try to kill Sin Vraal. The Avatar had the option to warn Sin Vraal of the coming danger, but the gargoyle was not overly concerned about the threat Stelnar posed.

Trivia[edit]

  • The star on Stelnar's helmet actually is the same star as in the logo of Origin Systems.
