Spirituality is one of the Eight Virtues of Britannia.
Description[edit]
Spirituality, founded on all three principles in equal parts, is the concern with one's inner being and how one deals with Truth, Love, and Courage. It is also the awareness of the love that unites one's own inner being to those around one. A center for rangers immersed in the study of Spirituality is the town of Skara Brae, located on an island at the western shores. The devotion of the rangers to this particular allows them to improve in power, skill and magic equally – though not as much in each field as the more specialized professions do.
The Shrine of Spirituality is not situated on Britannia. Instead is deep in the Ethereal Void, with access only through a moongate.
Spirituality through the Ages[edit]
Various messages throughout the ages, given by the shrine or the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom, show how Spirituality does apply to the lives of people.
Ultima IV[edit]
Meditating at the Shrine of Spirituality will give these insights:
- "Seek ye to know thyself. Visit the seer often for he can see into thy inner being!"
- "Meditation leads to enlightenment Seek ye all Wisdom and Knowledge!"
Ultima V[edit]
Quest form the shrine: "'Tis now thy sacred Quest to go unto the Codex and learn the neglect of one's Spirit!"
Answer from the Codex: "To forsake one's inner being is to abandon thy hopes for thyself and thy world."
Ultima VI[edit]
Wisdom of the shrine: "Throughout this varied and eternal world, soul is the only element. The wealth of the spirit is the only true wealth."
Blackthorn's Law[edit]
During Blackthorn's tyranny, Spirituality was twisted and turned into a draconian law: "Thou shalt enforce the laws of virtue, or thou shalt die as a heretic."

Trivia[edit]
- In Ultima IX, the inhabitants of Skara Brae were the only city to withstand the influence of the corrupting influence the columns radiated, because of their devotion to Spirituality. However, this resistance was to be their downfall, as the Guardian destroyed the steadfast city.
