Romasco is a short dumpy man living in Skara Brae during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
The Stranger could find Romasco inside Spiran's practice, the Mystic Heal, where he was in the midst of reading a book. A teacher by trade, he appeared to be focusing his current academic inquiries toward the Abyss, and would explain to the hero that a Word of Passage was needed to pass through the last gate of the great dungeon, recommending Zair the Wise of Paws as a further source regarding the topic.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- When the Japanese developers remade Ultima IV for the Famicom/NES, Romasco's name was transliterated in a form similar to "Ra-ma-se-co". Later, when the game was localized into English, "Ra-ma-se-co" was rendered as "Ramsel".
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Romasco/Ramsel can be met as a pirate in Buccaneer's Den. Apparently, after teaching about the Abyss, he braved it by himself, but failed and succumbed to selfishness. His sister still waits for him in Skara Brae.[2]
