This article is about the head of Empath Abbey. For other uses, see Robert (disambiguation).
Lord Robert is a stately baron who, during the time of Ultima IV, rules Empath Abbey with his wife, Lady Marcy.
Description[edit]
Lord Robert could be found within the court of the Abbey alongside his lady and, if asked, would direct questions to her regarding his domain and its devotion to Love. Should the Stranger have been advised by Brother Zair to seek out Robert and the other leaders of the three keeps, that the hero might learn the Word of Passage, the castellan could be consulted to reveal one of the word's three syllables, amo.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- Lord Robert's counterpart in reality is likely Robert Garriott, Richard Garriott's older brother.
- In the alleged journal of the Avatar discovered by historians Robert DeMain and Carlotta Stein, Lord Robert is described as being an older man with a careworn visage projecting an innate sense of kindness. The Stranger remarks that the Lord has an appearance reminiscent of Lord British, perhaps referencing Lord Robert's basis on Richard Garriott's sibling.[2]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV, Lord Robert has considerably less dialogue, and simply introduces himself, proclaiming that in his castle Love is held most sacred of all.[3]
