This article is about the Lord of the Lycaeum in Ultima IV. For other uses, see Rob (disambiguation).
Robert Frasier is the stately castellan of the Lycaeum during Ultima IV, which he rules jointly with his wife, the Lady Beth Frasier.
Description[edit]
Lord Robert Fraiser could be found within the Lycaeum's throne room alongside his lady, and would direct questions regarding the keep and its devotion to Truth to the baroness. Should the Stranger have been advised by Brother Zair to seek out the rulers of the three keeps so as to learn the Word of Passage, Robert could be asked of such matters and he would reveal one of the word's three syllables – 'ver.'[1]
Trivia[edit]
- A "Robert Simon Fraser" appears in the awards lists for the Society for Creative Anachronism’s (SCA) barony of Bryn Gwlad – where Richard Garriott has been known to participate in the persona of Shamino Sallé Dacil. It seems likely that the person bearing this SCA persona is the real life equivalent of Lord Robert Frasier, as well as the eponymous barkeep who also appears throughout the series.[2] Further tales can be found of Fraser's involvement in the infamous beverage "Fraser's Folly" (also mentioned in the games) which he is purported to have concocted in the company of one Sir Christian Richard Dupre.[3]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where the Word of Passage was omitted), Robert Frasier simply welcomes the Companions and introduces them to his lady wife.[4]
