Brother Zair is an old druid who lives in Cove during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Zair of Cove is brother to the wise Zair of Paws, and should the Stranger have met his sibling earlier, inquiries could be made of the Covite Zair for the tripartite Word of Passage necessary to enter the inner sanctum of the Abyss. The elderly man, content in his greying years to watch the endless flow of the river, would reveal to the hero that the lords of the three castles of the Principles each knew a syllable of the word sought.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Brother Zair can be identified with the white mage in the same location. Instead of directing the Stranger to the Strongholds of the Principles, he simply relates the principle of Truth with its virtue and its stone.[2]
