This article is about the tavernkeeper in Ultima VI. For other uses, see Rob (disambiguation).
Rob Frasier is a tavernkeeper in Moonglow during Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
Rob was the friendly proprietor of the Blue Bottle Tavern in Moonglow. A happy, successful man, he had popularized a local dish of baked brie with almonds and had even devised his own house brew, an ale ominously known as "Frasier's Folly", which was extremely popular throughout Britannia, with Derydlus, Manrel, Mandrake, and Iolo all speaking highly of this unique potation. He also sold baked brie, popular with those who came to enjoy his drinks.[1]
Runes of Virtue II[edit]
In Runes of Virtue II, Rob Frasier will insist the hero visit the Orb of the Moons on top of the Lycaeum, and on rescuing Lord Aganar will offer the hero a root beer instead of his traditional Frasier's Folly.
The Ultima 6 Project[edit]
This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.
In The Ultima 6 Project, Rob Frasier also rented rooms for the evening, for his tavern patrons who were unable to return home after excessively enjoying his powerful libations.
Trivia[edit]
- A "Robert Simon Fraser" appears in the awards lists for the Society for Creative Anachronism’s (SCA) barony of Bryn Gwlad – where Richard Garriott has been known to participate in the persona of Shamino Sallé Dacil. It seems likely that the person bearing this SCA persona is the real life equivalent of Rob Fraiser, as well as the eponymous Lord of the Lycaeum who appears in Ultima IV.[2] SCA accounts make mention of both the "Blue Bottle" Tavern of Bryn Gwlad, as well as "Fraser's Folly," which is reputed as having induced a fair number of real world hangovers.[3]
- Rob also is referenced as the owner of the Folley Tavern in Paws during Ultima IV.[4] and as the owner of the Lycaeum’s Folley Tap in Ultima V.[5]
