Arthur is the seneschal of Windemere in Ultima V: Lazarus.
A meek and nervous man, Arthur told the hero he was the seneschal of Windemere, helping to keep accounts, cook, clean, and keep inventory, ensuring the smooth running of the establishment. Constantly abused by the other inhabitants of the island, he was quick to apologize to the hero for even the most modest indiscretion. [1]
Arthur mentioned there was little fresh food available on the island, and that he'd only eaten fresh fish since leaving Minoc a year ago, where down on his luck, he had chosen to serve the Oppression for financial gains. Chartering a ship to the island in search of employment, he had served his mistress Elistaria since that time. Arthur felt that Elistaria was quite insane, and that Thrud was a cold-blooded killer and rapist, who loved to regale people with how he'd once slaughtered an entire town for causing him indigestion. He spoke of Elistaria's students, mentioning Pwyll was from Jhelom, and treated him fairly well. He knew that Edwin had intended to study necromancy and the dark arts at the Lycaeum, but these studies had been banned, and Alonda had been picked up as an orphan in Yew by Thrud and Elistaria.
Recognizing the hero as the Avatar, Arthur would ask for help in leaving the island when encountered alone. If the Avatar gave him a Gate Travel scroll, Arthur would use its power to escape his employment with the Oppression.
