Tsandar is an Ophidian adherent of Order who serves as SubCommander to Isstanar, the Commander of Serpent's Fang. He appears in The Silver Seed.

Description[edit]

Tsandar came of age in the early years of the War of Imbalance, being a boy at the time that hostilities between the followers of Order and the followers of Chaos began following the murder of Ssithnos.[1] At the time of his initial assignment to Serpent's Fang, he held the rank of Senior File Leader, commanding ten hands of soldiers. Following the death of Commander Ardiniss some nine months before the Avatar's arrival at the keep, he was briefly placed in charge of the garrison, but he was demoted shortly afterwards when Isstanar was appointed as Ardiniss' replacement.[2] As both Isstanar and Elissa observed, he was less than happy with this turn of events, and Isstanar mentioned this in his report to the Order Hierophant Calithiss.[3][4]

The Avatar could encounter Tsandar in the lower levels of Serpent's Fang, patrolling what appeared to be the keep's prison and torture chamber. If spoken to, the SubCommander would speak to his deep respect for the fallen Ardiniss and of his own dedication to the tenants of Order.[5] He could also be brought to confess his suspicions that Surok, the garrison's healer, had lapsed in his adherence to the virtue of Discipline, having allowed the escape of the Chaos-affiliated creature known as Yurel, who had thereafter fled into the nearby labyrinth created by the artificer Issik.[6] Unlike the more reserved Elissa, he would also boast freely as regarded the High Command's creation of automatons, which he anticipated would decisively turn the tide of the war.[7]

He as well offered to train the Avatar, making him the only melee trainer outside of Monitor.

Lore[edit]

Tsandar is now SubCommander of this outpost. My arrival seems to have upset him and made him jealous. I believe he blames me for his demotion. He often discusses and praises his former commander, Ardiniss, when I am not around. I anticipate difficulties with this warrior.

Services[edit]

Trivia[edit]

  • Tsandar is affected by the anti-force of Order and is especially prejudiced against those not following Order, or those he thinks of as failing Order.
