Ardiniss was the commander of Serpent's Fang before Isstanar.

Description

Roughly nine months prior to the events of the Silver Seed, Ardiniss and a band of warriors and mages set out to reclaim the Abandoned Outpost as well as set traps. They indeed set those traps, but then were ambushed by Chaos forces. Ardiniss' forces were slaughtered and he himself found his death near the torture chamber of the outpost.

The Avatar found his body during the events of Silver Seed. He was found with a scroll, which helped to deactivate a force field blocking the way to the Belt of Strength. Afterwards, the Avatar had the option to return the body to the castle to Surok, who had asked for it, so the man could be given a proper burial.

Trivia

• While Tsandar and Surok think with nostalgia of Ardiniss – perhaps due to Isstanar's startling nature – Elissa has a more jaded memory of her former commander, feeling he'd grown weak and died just in time before being disgraced.
