Talk:Ultima VII monster data

You can re-use most of the pictures for the Serpent Isle Monster data as well, since many are identical.--Tribun 14:56, 20 January 2011 (PST)

Monsters Cat.[edit]

Which one shall I use for the monsters of Ultima VII and some of Part Two? --Arthgon 06:34, 7 March 2013 (PST)

I usually stick the things that only exist in Serpent Isle in the SI category. Everything else goes Vanilla U7. There is no "best" approach, though. Dungy 06:37, 7 March 2013 (PST)
Putting every monsters in the Ultima VII Icons and VII Part Two (SI) Icons would only make it too messy. Now items and the monsters are mixed up. Perhaps a new categories like category:Ultima VII Monsters and SI Monsters?--Arthgon 06:45, 7 March 2013 (PST)
I've going to veto adding a third category. That's just going to be super-messy. Dungy 06:50, 7 March 2013 (PST)
Okay I will use Ultima VII Icons and for SI (Ultima VII Part Two) Icons. --Arthgon 06:53, 7 March 2013 (PST)

NPC?[edit]

What about making a list of the important NPCs in Ultima VII Black Gate?

Here are some:

Alagner:

Strength: 12
Dexterity: 13
Intelligence: 30
Combat: 4

Batlin:

Strength: 15
Dexterity: 14
Intelligence: 20
Combat: 8

Chuckles:

Strength: 11
Dexterity 14
Intelligence: 14
Combat: 1

Kissme:

Strength: 10
Dexterity 22
Intelligence: 9
Combat: 4

Lord British:

Strength: 30
Dexterity 30
Intelligence: 30
Combat: 30

Nystul:

Strength: 11
Dexterity 12
Intelligence: 20
Combat: 5

Wislem:

Strength: 20
Dexterity 17
Intelligence: 26
Combat: 11

I can find a lot more. --Arthgon (talk) 10:45, 23 March 2013 (PDT)

Bigger Icons ?[edit]

Perhaps you can overhaul all the icons to be bigger? They are all original size and size x 2, as in all the other monster tables, would be better. Sadly, I don't have the time for it.--Tribun (talk) 13:06, 23 March 2013 (PDT)

Okay. I will make the creatures tables just as big as the Prominent NPC and the Quest-related Opponents. I already was planning that. --Arthgon (talk) 15:47, 23 March 2013 (PDT)

Exult[edit]

Is Exult using the original statistics of the Monsters (I did not use Exult. Mind you, I can get everything. From the ritual killed bodies, items, objects, doors, beds, weapons to portraits.) et al? Or have things been changed? --Arthgon (talk) 03:42, 29 March 2013 (PDT)

Pretty sure they use the original values. Dungy (talk) 03:45, 29 March 2013 (PDT)

Some questions.[edit]

I was wondering about: 1) Do we actually have to include the Fairy in the Monster Data? That is because as far as I know there is only one in the game: Kissme. She is a NPC.
2) Idem ditto with the Wisp. It is better to include it in Prominent NPCs, right?
3) As you can see there are Mongbats, scorpions and rabbits in Ultima VII. (I found them inside the game) Shall I just give them the same statistics as in SI?
4) Toddlers and children?
5) Are the stats of Hook correct? I have found several different stats.
6) Did you know that the two Skeletons in the Dark Tower have different stats than the normal ones? And also treated as NPCs? 7) The Exult version is a remake of the original version of Ultima VII, right? Could there be a possibility that things as stats and all are changed? You should know that the pictures of the monsters, NPC's, Opponents and their stats (except from the monsters) are from the original version. I do not have exult.
--Arthgon (talk) 18:35, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

1)Feel free to remove the fairy. No point having two.
2)I thought there were non-NPC wisps in the game. Am I confused about that?
3)Give them the stats found using Exult Studio (If you don't have Studio, I can do this)
4)Toddlers wear diapers and are tiny. Children are Spark-sized.
5)Which stats do you have?
6)I didn't know that. Interesting, but probably not important enough to go in the monster data page.
7)Exult is not a remake. Exult is a game engine that uses the original Ultima VII data. All monster data is read from the original game files, and is identical to the original Ultima VII. You should use Exult, it's amazing!

I need to find new projects on the wiki. I can't think of anything to do at the moment. Lots of Ultima Forever stuff I could do if I were allowed. :( Dungy (talk) 21:22, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for answering my questions:

1) I am on it.
2) They are? I have not seen one. Must have overlooked them. I will check this out.
3) I do not have Exult Studio.
If you want, you can do this as a new project. 4) I know. I just could include the important ones as NPCs
5)

a) Hook_Clone:

Strength 18
Dexterity 14
Intelligence 14
Combat 16
This one is used, when you see him and the others (Elizabeth, Forskis and Abraham) through the crystal ball attacking Alagner.

b) Hook:

Strength 28
Dexterity 26
Intelligence 25
Combat 25
At the Black Gate.

6) Yes. They are treated as NPCs. Both have the same stats (Str 25, Dex 25, Int 25 and Combat 25) and are called Uuungh and Aaargh.

7) It is? I must have confuse it with something else again.--Arthgon (talk) 23:53, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Warrior Gargoyles?[edit]

I may have overlooked them, but are you sure that there are non-NPC Gargoyle Warriors? If not I will remove them from the Monsters. --Arthgon (talk) 15:25, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Non-NPC Wisps[edit]

Yes, there are non-NPC Wisps, but as far I have seen no hostile ones. Just like the Wingless Gargoyles. --Arthgon (talk) 15:46, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

A Non-NPC Wisp is to be found next to the house of Ben; Str 10, Dex 28, Int 25, Combat 22 and next to Penni's house: Str 9, Dex 22, Int 24, Combat 17 --Arthgon (talk) 16:01, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Does not they also use the same portrait as the Xorinia Wisp? --Arthgon (talk) 16:03, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Draxinusom[edit]

Is the unique Draxinusom sprite ever actually used in-game? As far as I can see, the character only appears as a gargoyle noble. Scrolling through the frames of the Draxinusom sprite in Exult Studio also shows it to be unfinished, so I have my doubts. --Terilem (talk) 02:21, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Yeah. It is as if they wanted to use the unique sprites, but still dropped it. I actually find it more fitting for him than the Gargoyle Noble. --Arthgon (talk) 19:24, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Stats?[edit]

I want to fill out the other stats (Int, Dex, Int) for the monsters and the animals. There is only ONE problem; which ones have been used to get the other stats (Armour, Damage and reach)? As you may have noticed everyone have completely different ones.

Just as an example;

The animals next to the Slaughterhouse of Morfin in Paws:

Cow: Str 12, Dex 1, Int 8, Combat 3
Sheep: Str 1, Dex 4, Int 1, Combat 1

Next to the homeless shelter:

Sheep: Str 1, Dex 3, Int 1, Combat 1
Chicken: Str 1, Dex 1, Int 7, Combat 1

At the house, right of the Flour Mill;

Dog: Str 7, Dex 10, Int 1, Combat 10

Next to Farmer's Market in Britain:

Dog: Str 10, Dex 14, Int 5, Combat 10 (playing kid's games)

Diane:

Horse (Wilbur): Str 16, Dex 19, Int 4, Combat 8 Horse (Mr. Ed) Str 17, Dex 17, Int 1, Combat 11 Horse: Str 16, Dex 16, Int 4, Combat 7 Horse (Epimetrius): Str 20, Dex 20, Int 4, Combat 11 Cow: Str 16, Dex 5, Int 5, Combat 1

Mack:

Chicken: Str 4, Dex 7, Int 5, Combat 4 Chicken: Str 2, Dex 4, Int 1, Combat 4 Chicken: Str 3, Dex 4, Int 5, Combat 2

Shall I just fill in the other stats that are missing (regardless of possible difference of Armour/Damage/Reach) or point out the whereabouts of the used animals/monsters and that someone else write down the stats of Armour/Damage/Reach? What to do? --Arthgon (talk) 15:06, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Missing/null data[edit]

There seemed to be some dithering on the meaning of cells that were empty and those w/hyphens. I took the liberty of assuming (w/a few exceptions) that textual cells had no data to them and the figure cells (like for attributes) had no available data in them. But that means that creatures like parrots don't have any attributes even though some other creatures who's combat attributes are unimportant do.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 11:35, 15 July 2022 (MDT)

Notes sections need rewording[edit]

I'm not sure what to think of "invisible", "see invisible" and "no body". My best guess is that "invisible" can be changed to "Can turn invisible" but what's "see invisible"? And "no body" is even more mysterious.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 14:41, 27 February 2023 (MST)

Can killing Lord British be a numbers game?[edit]

If Lord British has a piddly 127 hit points, then it seems a glass sword or two could take care of him, but this is not mentioned in Killing Lord British#Ultima VII. Unless another routine ensures that he can't be killed that way. In which case, the hit points are just a number that's in the code, which never has any bearing on gameplay.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 14:46, 27 February 2023 (MST)
