Talk:Dungeon of Fire

Interestingly enough, the map of this dungeon was labeled as Ultima: Hell in the first edition of the second edition of The Official Book of Ultima that I bought years ago when it came out in 1992. Shall I upload the map? (Let's hope that my scanner works with me) --Arthgon (talk) 11:33, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

In the Ultima III Clue Book it is called Dungeon of Fire. In the dungeon itself the first message you come across is "Beware the fires of hell!" which is probably where the confusion comes in. But in the transcript it is also referred to as the Dungeon of Fire. So at least we don't have to change the name everywhere. :)
Mentioning it in Trivia would probably be worth it. Does the map have anything on it that isn't shown on the map we already have? Otherwise probably not worth it as we already have a link to the full pdf here. -- Fenyx4 14:19, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
I.have not seen the PDF Version, so I cannot judge if it is different than the one that I have in my possession. (There is also a map of Doom of Ultima V) However, such links make us dependent on the availability of files. That is how I look at it. Some ideas.

1) What if I upload the map (Ultima: Hell) and then you can do whatever you want with it, okay?

2) I also have the official maps of all the towns, cities, castles and dungeons of Ultima V, VI and Ultima Underworld II and some others (I have bought those hint books years ago) Shall I upload them as well? Well.. Fingers cross that my scanner works. It is acting strange lately.

3) There is something else that I was wondering. The use of the official maps and those who are self-made. Which one to use if the official ones are available? --Arthgon (talk) 16:42, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

1) Sure.
2) If you think they are useful then yeah. Realize that others have scanned the entire books before though. So don't destroy your binding needlessly.
3) Judgement call based on what provides the best information and aesthetics. Like, I think the original U3 cluebook has ASCII art for the dungeons. Definitely don't want to use that. The ones in The Official Book of Ultima are pretty good but I think the TrigonMan3 ones are clearer. -- Fenyx4 18:29, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
