SMS map for Ultima IV
A separate paper map came with the SMS-port of Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
The map essentially is the same as the original map of Ultima IV, although the color scheme was somewhat simplified, causing the map to look somewhat flatter than the original. The runic for the Cape of Heroes is also missing from the map and the circles for the moongate symbols are missing the whites. The map is on the sides decorated with six illustrations from the Book of Mystic Wisdom (specifically, the illustrations from the spells Light, Jinx, Heal, Open, Awaken and Fireball).
Like the other aspects of the SMS-port, the map is much closer to the original than the one from the NES-port.
On the back of the map, tables for weapons, armour, reagents and spells are printed, saving the player from constantly reading the manual during gameplay.
