Quan is the gargish Fellowship branch leader of Terfin during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Quan was a naïve and compassionate gargoyle, who had previously lived a hedonistic and selfish life and appeared to sincerely wish to atone for it. Coming from one of the more prominent families of Gargish society, Quan had endeavored to break with his past by taking on his current name, which was outside of the Gargish language and therefore carried meaning to him alone.[1] [2][3]
Should the Avatar speak to Quan regarding the plot Teregus suspected existed amongst the Fellowship to destroy the altars of the Principles, Quan would claim ignorance. Even when presented with evidence of his clerk, Runeb, was not only involved in such an affair but had planned Quan's assassination, the gentle cleric could not bring himself to believe that any of his parishioners would become involved in such a crime. Should the hero be empowered by the blackrock cube, it would be revealed that Quan was earnest in these beliefs, and that the innocent gargoyle had no comprehension of the dark intentions at the Fellowship's core.[4]

Trivia[edit]
- In the SNES-port of Ultima VII, Quan is up front about Teregus' suspicions that the Fellowship planned to destroy the Pedestals, and took a far more active role in addressing and dismissing them.[5]
