Front cover

The NES Ultima III manual is the manual for the NES-port of Ultima III. It is 36 pages long and in the typical booklet style of that time's NES games.

Description[edit]

Unlike the original manuals of Ultima III, this manual only contains information relating to the controls of the game and the needed game information broken down to bare bones without any flavor text. There also are no illustrations of any kind in it. It basically is just a dry read that needs to be done before starting the game.

Book Content[edit]

  • The Story
  • Character Creation
  • Controls
  • Various Information
  • Magic
  • Dungeons

Other Editions[edit]

The edition that was released with the game in Japan is quite different from the international release. The book is not only in a normal manual size, but also – unlike the western edition – prominently features heavily deformed anime art – especially on the cover – in pastel colors. While the book content – apart from the added NES map for Ultima III – is identical, the presentation is quite different due to the many highly-deformed illustrations.
