Covetous (Ultima V)
Covetous is not that tough of a dungeon, although after the weak Despise, it is the first real challenge in dungeon crawling. There is only one really difficult puzzle with a hard fight; the rest of the dungeon lives up to its name: an excellent place to farm for gold.
The Underworld below Covetous leads to the Shard of Hatred, and is connected to both Covetous and Wrong. There is no real reason to visit the other dungeon once either is cleared.
Level 1: You can skip the rooms if you don't need gold. Just head straight for the ladder to the south.
Level 2: You have the option here of going to the Upper Crypts (to the east), which are full of riches but are ultimately a dead end. To reach the Underworld, head to the west for the Lower Crypts.
Level 3-5: Just take the ladder straight down to the bottom; you can explore these levels later if you want a bunch of XP and loot.
Level 6: This level is a bit of a puzzle; the trick is to enter the western room in the level's central core (where you'll find dragons and reapers waiting). There's a trigger hidden behind the upper torch that will open a passage east down to the next level. As soon as anyone in your party touches the ladder, more dragons will be released.
Level 7: Head west. You'll either need Lord British's sceptre or a Level 4 magic user and two An Grav spells mixed, because the path will be blocked by two electric fields. Take either ladder down.
Level 8: You can heal your party at any of the fountains here. Don't dispel any fields; just go to the ladder heading down and you'll reach the Underworld.
