Boris is the owner of the Modest Damsel, a tavern and inn in New Magincia during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
A flirtatious and gossipy man, Boris proved a font of information about the inhabitants of remote New Magincia, and could speak at length about the various merchants and laborers which inhabited the parochial town of Humility. He would also make nervous mention of the three shipwrecked strangers (Robin, Battles and Leavell) who had recently washed up on the island's shores.[1]
Should the Avatar be looking into the theft of Henry's locket, the hero could trace the path of the original thieves back to the Modest Damsel, and could pressure Boris into admitting that he had stolen the piece of jewelry from Robin. Once confronted, the nervous innkeeper would offer to return the item, but would find that it was missing from the hiding place where he had secured it. Eventually, the Avatar could discover that it had been taken by Boris' wife, mayor Magenta, who had mistaken the locket as a gift intended for her.[2][3]

Trivia[edit]
- Should Dupre be in the party while speaking to Boris, the tavern-keeper will reveal that the ale-loving knight has run up a considerable tab at the Damsel, and will refuse to interact with the party until it is paid.
- Should Katrina be present in the party while speaking to Boris, she will elaborate on her friendship with the Avatar of legend, and will call the barkeep out on his sportive comments to the women of the town.[1]
