In Ultima V: Lazarus, various trainers throughout the land are capable of improving a character abilities in different skills. The skills available to characters are based upon their classes. The cost of improving a character's skill is equal to 150gp × character level. More skills become available to characters as they reach higher levels.

Skills Available[edit]

  • Archery: Bonus to missile weapon accuracy (bard)
  • Battle Focus: Increases melee weapon accuracy (fighter, paladin, ranger)
  • Channeling: Increases mana regeneration (mage, druid)
  • Death Blow: Increases chance of a critical hit (fighters)
  • Destruction: Increases ability to use offensive spells (mage)
  • Duration: Some spells now last longer (druid)
  • Impedance: Reduces the effect of enemy spells (druid)
  • Jimmy: Increases chance of successfully picking a lock (tinker, bard)
  • Parrying: Attacks may be blocked with shields or certain weapons (ranger, paladin)
  • Protection: Increases the ability to use protective and restorative spells (druid)
  • Rapid Strike: Increases rate of melee and weapon attacks (bard)
  • Recovery: Increases hit point regeneration (paladin, shepherd, ranger)
  • Traps: Increases chance of successfully finding and disarming deadly traps (tinker)
