Ultima Online: Third Dawn Reference Manual

The Ultima Online: Third Dawn Reference Manual comes with Ultima Online: Third Dawn. It is 14 pages long.

Description[edit]

This book is a radical departure from the previous manual, in that it is a bare-bones manual, just holding the barest minimum of information needed to start the game properly. This was due to most of the information being shifted to on-disk PDFs and in-game help. It was also clearly felt that buyers of this expansion had also bought the previous one, and got the big manual of that one, so there would be no need for another big manual.

Book Content[edit]

The following topics are part of the book:

  • Welcome to Britannia
  • Setting Up Your Account
  • Starting Ultima™ Online: Third Dawn™
  • Shard Selection
  • Creating A Character
  • Haven and the UO Tutorial
  • Interacting With Britannia
  • Moving Your Character
  • Communicating With Others
  • Combat
  • Helpful Hints
  • Troubleshooting and Support
  • Additional Information

Other Editions[edit]

The book was translated into several other languages, including: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Japanese, Chinese (for Taiwan), Korean and Russian. The covers of the books in the European market already sport the new EA blue-ribbon branding at the bottom, while the covers of the book published in the Asian and Australian markets are not in color but in monochrome.

The inside of at least the European books is different to the U.S. version. Due to a different font and actual page backgrounds, it looks less bland. Also, a section for technical help was added at the end, thus the book has more pages.
