Talk:Ultima Online Artifacts in Ultima IX

Article predicated on poor assumptions[edit]

Other than the observation about the map, this article is entirely speculation and dripping with U9 bitterness.

  • How is it known that things like the nightshade plant and spell icons didn't originate in U9 and then find their way into UO? Nightshade, for instance, was already a plant in the pre-1997 U9 engine, as shown by the reagents bag gump from that era.
  • The UO logo adopted the U9 font, not the other way around. The U9 logo became public in 1998; UO didn't start using this font until Lord Blackthorn's Revenge in 2002.

Biased, fact-free articles like this make the wiki look terrible. --Terilem (talk) 22:29, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Must have been too long of a day if I slip like that. Maybe I shouldn't do an article after an entire hour spent with maintenence (what all the edits are before that). I blanked the whole thing. Only thing I leave in backpack and Ultima Online Map of Britannia is, that the UO map is really found in the U IX backpack, heaven knows what the dev team thought when putting that in there.--Tribun (talk) 22:40, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
Fair enough. Yeah, the map thing is valid. I don't think I'd noticed it before today; good catch. --Terilem (talk) 22:59, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
