Jeanette is a barmaid working at the Blue Boar Tavern in Britain during Ultima VII.

Description[edit]

A sweet and bubbly young woman, Jeanette seemed happy under the employ of Lucy, the Blue Boar's proprietor. Eager to please the establishment's patrons, the flighty bartender would offer a discount on all item purchases through her. Like many others in the food industry of the early Age of Armageddon, she was also quick to recommend the exotic Silverleaf dish available for purchase.[1]

Should the Avatar have learned about Charles' affections for Jeanette, the hero would be able to discuss the young valet with her. Due to his employment at Castle Britannia Jeanette assumed he was of a higher class, and admitted that she spurned the young man's advances, thinking him too elitist and aristocratic for a simple working woman such as her. She instead revealed her attraction to Willy, the local baker, whom she thought to be cut of a similar cloth as herself.[2]

Should Lucy overhear such talk, however, the older woman would challenge Jeanette's assumptions – pointing out that Willy was a bourgeois and well-to-do merchant and that Charles was, in reality, a humble domestic worker. The barmaid, upon hearing such an analysis, would shift her affections rapidly, vowing to flirt with Charles in earnest now that she considered him an acceptable match.[3]

Lore[edit]

Britain boasts a great many merchants, from provisioners to tavern keepers, apothecaries to weaponsmiths, trainers to shipwrights.

Trivia[edit]

  • Should Dupre be in the party while talking to Jeanette, the young barmaid will mention having met him before during his "tour" on behalf of Brommer's Britannia.[1]
  • Talking to Willy about Jeanette's affections will, in fact, reveal the haughty baker to consider himself above her.[4]
