Xarnthal is the founder of a cult that worships Talornia in Ultima IX.

Description

Xarnthal had originally been a citizen of the destroyed village of Dawn, and according to Molly, with the coming of the red dragon Talornia Xarnthal had formed a cult to worship the dragon hoping to placate her rage. Eventually, the cult had moved deep within the bowels of dungeon Destard to further serve the wyrm.

The Avatar however would never meet the man in life, as inside Destard Saphera told the hero that Xarnthal had perished, and she was the new leader of the cult, continuing his work. Later, while searching Xarnthal's grave for one of the keys to Talornia's lair, the Avatar discovered that the man had been transformed after death into a giant zombie, which would attack the hero.
