Volcanic ash (VA) is a reagent that is in use on Pagan.
Uses and History[edit]
Pagan[edit]
This ash is produced during a volcanic eruption. It is not to be confused with sulfurous ash as found in Britannia. The Sorcerers do use the volcanic ash as a reagent to invoke fire within one of their spells. Due to the fact that Morgaelin was a massive volcano, it is rich in deposits of ash that can be harvested without much hassle for spellcasting purposes.
Lore[edit]
“ | The refuse of the volcano has the property of creating the initial spark of Fire. – from The Chronicle of Pagan (Ultima VIII)

“ | The simplest reagent is volcanic ash. Its purpose in Sorcery is to represent the spark that brings flame. – from Vardion (Ultima VIII)

Trivia[edit]
- Volcanic ash can have many different hues. The one on Pagan is almost black, while most earth volcanoes produce a very light-grey ash.
